| Our flock comprises a variety of fine and long wooled crosses that appeal to handspinners, and are suitable meat breeds. These dual-purpose crosses suit our needs quite well, and are hardy and good mothers. |

Meet Zeus: The photo says a lot! His look and carcass quality are from his sire (Romney), his fleece is the best of his dam and sire - long staple, lustrous, softer than most Romney, fabulous handspinning fleece. This dude needs to contribute to the gene pool! Sire - Winter Warlock, registered Romney - great conformation, good carcass quality, great Romney fleece, black factored Dam - Cabbie - Finn-Lincoln x Rambouillet, one of our two most popular hand-spinning fleeces (her dam Lizzie is the other), black/silver, twins/triplets, good carcass quality Zeus is the 2006 Loudoun County Fair Reserve Champion Wool Ram, shown by one of our first year 4-H non-ownership members! Zeus had to first compete in the Spring Ram Lamb class; then he was pitted against Henry (our yearling wool ram - see Features) to secure his place - rough competition! Interesting lineage note: Zeus is also out of Cabbie (like Henry, our Champion Wool Ram) and is sired by Winter Warlock (like Anne, the Reserve Champion Wool Ewe); Cabbie is out of Lizzie (like Anne) - maybe we're on to something, here.
